Welcome to the Confidence Initiative, a workshop I have created to help you become just that – confident.

I created these workshops as I am very passionate about helping people who have problems with their mental health, particularly anxiety and depression.  I really understand what they are going through.

After the loss of my sister and two of my brothers in extremely traumatic circumstances I suffered with poor mental health over a period of time.  I was suffering from very scary symptoms such as hallucinations, psychosis and anxiety and even had suicidal thoughts. I was so worried I’d follow my siblings I eventually got admitted to a psychiatric unit. It was during my time in this care that I realised that slow and methodical steps were the best way to recovery. Once I had been discharged from the psychiatric unit I started voluntary work at Wildwood. It was while I was here I knew that I wanted everything back and the way to do this was through slow, methodical steps – small victories was the way the way to go.

I honestly believe that having been diagnosed with depression and depressive psychosis, PTSD and anxiety have made me a much stronger person and suffering at that level gave me the experience and compassion needed to truly understand mental illness. I wanted to gain the knowledge and skills needed to become an effective therapist so, after 18 months of voluntary work and recovery, I decided that I wanted to use my experiences to help others. I returned to paid employment to fund my studies and re-trained and qualified as a Hypnotherapist and practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic programming. I then continued to train and qualify as a counsellor and Psychotherapist.

Continuing with my desire to help as many people as possible, the Confidence Initiative workshops were born. Based on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and both traditional and modern hypnosis techniques the purpose of the Control Initiative is to allow you to become more confident in your daily life. It is all about changing what you don’t like and being able to rewrite unhelpful and negative patterns of thought and strengthen positive thought patterns.

These workshops are designed to help you achieve a better understanding of how your mind works.

They will teach you how you can create and keep a positive mindset and show you how you can change the circumstances of your life with the quality of your thoughts.

This will be particularly helpful for people who suffer from anxiety and anxiety-related disorders, depression and low self-esteem.

During the workshops, I will show you how to rewrite negative thought patterns and create and keep positive and empowering behaviour patterns, as well as how to deal with fears, phobias, and addictions. I will also be teaching relaxation techniques. My workshops will be centred around having direct access to the subconscious and changing negative thought patterns and managing anxiety and depression – it’s about becoming a better version of yourself than you were. Ongoing support will be offered and the first hour will focus on learning or improving meditational techniques.

You will also learn about confidence, what it is, how it helps us and why we need it. Confidence is almost the exact opposite of anxiety which is why it is almost impossible for them to co-exist. It is impossible to have a negative and positive thought together and anxiety becomes secondary when you are in a confident frame of mind.

Confidence is like our own natural superpower!
